Thank you for your interest in volunteering with SHRM St. Louis. Our continued success is due to the time and talents of our volunteers and we look forward to your participation on one of our many committees.

Volunteering is a great way to contribute your talents, develop leadership skills, meet other members, and enhance your professional profile. Choose among a variety of volunteer opportunities that work with your schedule. Expect to commit to 3-5 hours per month, depending on the needs of your committee.

Committee Descriptions
Included below are brief descriptions of each of our committees. To sign-up to volunteer, or request more information, please complete the Volunteer Form below. A member of the committee will be in touch shortly.

Business Partner Committee
SHRM of Greater St. Louis has dozens of members who are business partners serving the HR community. Members of this committee help those business partners connect with other SHRM members. The committee invites business partners to sponsor meetings, advertise on the website, and join us as leaders at our annual conference. 

Certification
Many of our members take the PHR/SPHR and SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification exams each year. Members of our certification committee coordinate a certification prep course in the fall and spring as the test date approaches.

Communications
Communication is key! Our communications committee publishes weekly e-newsletters for our members, and keeps the website updated.

Diversity
We are proud to have a committee that focuses on promoting diversity in our profession.

Emerging Professionals
The SHRM of Greater St. Louis Emerging Professionals Committee facilitates educational and social opportunities for the next generation of HR professionals. All members are welcome to join Emerging Professionals events as mentors to our younger members, or as new members looking to grow their careers.

Leadership Conference
Our Annual Leadership Conference is our organization's premier event. Every year, it brings together hundreds of HR professionals who hear from dozens of speakers on a variety of topics. Past Keynote Speakers have included Johnny Taylor (SHRM CEO), Robert Chapman (CEO of Barry-Wehmiller), and John O'Leary. Committee members have the opportunity to shape all aspects of the conference.

Membership
The Membership Committee recruits and retains our hundreds of members. Committee members identify potential members, welcome new members to the organization, and promote involvement among our membership.

Mentoring
Many of our members join SHRM of Greater St. Louis for mentorship. Our Mentorship Committee facilitates a formal networking program that provides resume review and promotes career advancement.

Past President's Council
The SHRM of Greater St. Louis Past President's Council engages our past Chapter leaders to facilitate educational and social opportunities for the next generation of HR professionals. Past Presidents serve as speakers, mentors, and advisors to the Chapter.

Programs
The Programs Committee sets our entire educational agenda. Volunteers identify topics of interest, recruit speakers, and coordinate logistics for our monthly programs each year.

SHRM Foundation
Our chapter proudly supports the SHRM Foundation through fundraisers and social activities. Committee members plan and execute events and activities designed to raise awareness and funds for the SHRM Foundation.

University Relations
SHRM of Greater St. Louis forges strong relationships with students at colleges and universities that offer degrees in Human Resource Management. This committee serves as an advisor to local student chapters and acts as a liaison between our organization and those chapter.

Workforce Readiness
The philanthropic arm of SHRM of Greater St. Louis supports workforce readiness initiatives in the St. Louis area. We identify the resources most helpful to HR professionals and promote those resources within members. The Workforce Readiness Committee determines how our members can advocate for workforce readiness initiatives and community and organizations.
