She served as the president of SHRM of Greater St. Louis from 2008-2009, Currently, she is the co-chairperson for the Past President Council, which facilitates activities to advance SHRM of Greater St. Louis. The mission of the Past President Council is to “give back” to SHRM of Greater St. Louis. Prior to her presidency, she was the VP of Diversity and served on the committees for membership, programs, and diversity. As a dual certified professional (SHRM-CP and PHR), Patricia maintains her membership with SHRM of Greater St. Louis, and SHRM national because she enjoys meeting new professionals, networking with colleagues, availing herself of the resources offered by national and staying abreast of human resources trends and practices. Annually, she teaches the employment modules through NHRA to professionals seeking their human resources certification. Patricia is also a member of the Society of Multicultural Professionals in HR and has volunteered/assisted on the membership committee and served as VP of Membership. Patricia is passionate about the development aspect by being a member of SHRM of Greater St. Louis, so she continually attracts/invites human resources professionals to attend a meeting as her guest in hopes that they will join, increasing the membership and ultimately, advancing the career. Patricia had the opportunity to assist foreign students with mock interviews and to seek subject matter experts (SME) to discuss a current topic at a breakfast meeting.
