Message From the President
Hi everyone!
I hope you're having a great month and getting through our hot weather and heavy rainfall.
Here are some chapter updates and highlights:
YP Event. We have a Young Professionals Happy Hour on August 18. I invite you to register, but challenge you to forward this invitation to a guest who might want to attend. The event is open to non-members. Thanks to Brenda Dusha for his work organizing that.
Breakfast Meeting. I encourage you to attend our next breakfast meeting on August 24, featuring a presentation on workplace violence by Maryanne Heuer Martin.
I went to the Missouri SHRM Conference at Margaritaville in the first week of August. It was an amazing time. It was great to see some of our former board members and friends there, including Jim Paul, John Marino, Danielle Spiekerman, Mary Ames-Smith, Angie Schaefer, and too many more to mention. Check out photos on their LinkedIn page.
The event was a nice prequel to OUR conference coming up on September 23. If you haven't registered for that, get signed up today.
I also met some really neat people whose businesses sponsored the conference. Here's some info about a few of them:
- Rebecca Lobina at Northwest MO State University. They have a bunch of different HR educational programs, such as this one, and enrollment comes with a dedicated education coach. [email protected].
- Also on the educational front, Kate Rothwell from Columbia College was there to talk about their programs -- including ones in STL if you're interested.
- Justin Schadel ([email protected]) is an HCM Advisor at The Payroll Company who consults on a broad range of HR and payroll challenges.
We'll have dozens of business partners like these at our own conference coming up, with countless resources we can benefit from.
Hope to see you at an upcoming event! Have a great weekend.
2022 President
