Meet SHRMSTL Certification Chair - Robin Wood

Robin Wood will utilize over two decades of SHRM St. Louis membership experience, along with her SHRM-SCP and SPHR certifications, in her role as the chapter’s 2022 Certification Chair.

“I think that the certifications have helped to elevate the experience that I have,” explains Wood. “They support my tenure in the profession because they’re an illustration of the knowledge base that I have acquired.”

Over the course of her year as Certifications Chair, Wood intends to focus on supporting any study groups interested in acquiring certification, as well as being an advocate to the process itself.

“I feel that I will be able to speak to anyone interested about the benefits of certification, while clearly communicating the process to them,” says Wood. “Generally, certification helps to represent our profession to others, so it’s good for the profession itself.”

Wood currently works as Human Resources Manager for Lanter Delivery Systems. Her past SHRM St. Louis chapter activity has included service as the 2020 Conference Chair, as well as a position on the SHRM St. Louis Leadership Nominations Committee. It was this committee role that led another member to introduce her to Certification Committee involvement.
