Member Spotlight on...Julia Greco, HR Manager, O+O Hospitality
As the sole HR practitioner at O+O Hospitality, Julia Greco has proven that one person can make a lasting impact on an organization's employees. Over the past year, Julia led a major transformation of the company's employee health benefits, replacing a traditional health insurance plan with an innovative, direct primary care-centered health plan designed to make healthcare more affordable, accessible, and predictable.
The idea for the new plan grew directly from conversations Julia had with employees during the company's 2024 open enrollment period. Team members consistently shared that they often avoided seeking care because they were uncertain about the cost. Many relied on their insurance only for urgent care or emergencies, while employees managing chronic conditions struggled with the ongoing expense of prescriptions, testing supplies, and other essential healthcare needs.
Determined to remove those barriers, Julia researched alternative healthcare models and successfully implemented a new benefits program that took effect on April 1, 2026. The plan combines direct primary care with a regional PPO network, giving employees multiple ways to access care while maintaining comprehensive coverage. Most notably, when employees use the plan's designated healthcare partners, routine and preventive services are covered entirely through their monthly premium—meaning no copays, deductibles, or surprise medical bills.
Julia's goal was simple but impactful: encourage employees to seek care earlier, reduce financial stress, and create a healthcare experience that is easier to navigate. Just four months after implementation, the results have been overwhelmingly positive. Employees have reported improvements in their health, increased satisfaction with their benefits, and greater financial peace of mind. Several have even shared that the savings from free care, prescriptions, and medical supplies have felt like receiving a raise.
For Julia, the project represents more than a successful benefits redesign—it reflects the power of listening to employees and creating solutions that directly improve their quality of life.
When it came time to celebrate the accomplishment, Julia kept it close to home with dinner at Olive + Oak, one of O+O Hospitality's renowned restaurants.
Her favorite piece of advice continues to guide both her career and this achievement: "Show up imperfectly and do it afraid."
